VA Decision Letter Analyzer (Beta)

Understand what VA actually decided

A VA decision letter packs the decisions, the reasons, and your options into dense pages. Upload yours and get a plain-language breakdown with every claim cited back to your letter, for a flat $20.

How it works

1. Sign in and upload

Create a free account, then upload one decision letter (PDF, DOCX, or TXT, up to 25 MB). Your document is stored encrypted and stays yours to delete at any time.

2. Pay $20 for the analysis

One flat price per letter, paid through Stripe. Payment covers the automated analysis, whatever it finds. If we can't read your document, you're refunded automatically.

3. Read your report

In a few minutes you get a plain-language report: every condition and outcome, the reasons VA gave, evidence gaps the letter itself points to, and the combined-rating math shown step by step.

4. Bring it to a professional

The report ends with questions to ask a VA-accredited representative, with links to VA's free help directory. It prints cleanly so you can take it with you.

What the report includes

  • Every condition with its outcome, percentage, effective date, and diagnostic code
  • The reasons VA gave for each decision, quoted from your letter
  • Evidence gaps the letter itself identifies, and why they mattered
  • Your combined rating recalculated with VA's own math (38 CFR 4.25), step by step
  • Decision-review options mentioned by your letter, each linked to the official VA page
  • Deadlines stated in the letter, every one flagged for verification with VA
  • Questions to bring to a VA-accredited representative

The report explores mathematically possible rating scenarios, clearly labeled as math only. It will never tell you a rating is guaranteed, suggest conditions you don't have, or coach you toward any outcome. It also explains the difference between a 100% schedular rating and Individual Unemployability, which are commonly confused.

Your privacy

  • Your letter is stored encrypted and kept only until you delete it or close your account.
  • Identifiers like Social Security and VA file numbers are stripped from extracted text before analysis.
  • The analysis is performed by an AI model; the report is automated and may contain errors.
  • You can download everything we store about you, or permanently delete it, at any time.

Free help exists too

VA-accredited Veterans Service Organization representatives will help you with your claim for free, and this tool is designed to make that conversation more productive, not to replace it. Find an accredited representative on VA.gov.
